Hello family and friends!
What an inspiring, impressive and wondrous week we have had together. We read stories, had fun with our voices in Music, explored our new school spaces and even made a bunch of new friends! We had a lot of fun exploring different aspects of our classroom and playing with new friends! We have worked on learning routines/transitions and exploring the school. Please remember to check this blog weekly and our Twitter account @GlowingKinders. Please tweet us pictures of exciting things you do at home so we can continue to grow the home/school connection.
In Mrs. S's class, we co-created classroom promises together - ask me what we came up with!
We learned new games - ask me which one was my favourite!
We learned about friendship - ask me how I can be a good friend!
We explored different ways of moving our bodies - ask me which was the most fun!
In Mrs. McKay's classes, we played at centres with new friends - ask me which centre I loved the most! We began using our visual journal where we drew a self-portrait and practiced printing our name. We played on the playground and worked on sharing and taking turns. Kinders love to play outside. Please ensure your child has proper footwear for playing at the park or in the field.
-Please check the zippered mail folder daily for communication between the school and your family. An important package was sent home with your child on their very first day which needs to be completed and returned. If you haven't done so already, please send those back as soon as possible.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Field Trips/Inclass events:
We will be having several field trips over the course of our year. In order to volunteer the school board requires a Police Clearance Letter which takes a few weeks to process. If you were interested in joining us we would absolutely LOVE to have you! We have 2 potential field trips within the coming weeks and will not be able to proceed without adequate adult supervision.
Scholastic Orders:
We would also love to have a volunteer put together the Scholastic book order forms every other month. This person does not need to worry about any of the ordering. If you would like to do this, please email Kristi at kcmckay@cbe.ab.ca.
Play-Doh:
In Kindergarten we use a lot of Play-Doh. It would be a huge help if we could have families sign up to make Play-doh for our classes throughout the year. Signup Genius Please sign up using the link provided.
If there is specific content you wish was on our blog, please let us know as we want to make it as engaging and enjoyable as possible.
As always, if there are questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us at kcmckay@cbe.ab.ca and hesiarkiewicz@cbe.ab.ca.
