February 10 to February 12

We had such a LOVE-ly week!

We welcomed a new classmate this week named Henry.  Everyone has done a remarkable job making him feel included, showing him around and getting him used to our daily routines. I am so impressed with the amount of love and care we have shown to our new classmate!

In Math, we continued to heavily focus on showing the same number in different ways this week. Ask me to show you all the different ways I can represent you 9 and 10. Ask me to show you all the different "math" (equations) I can make to get that number. Ask me to show you the same number, in different ways using my hands.

We got to visit a new furry friend in one of our grade 3/4 classrooms.  Ask me what we saw.  Ask me what the name of the hamster was.  Ask me what mode of transportation it used to roll around the room.  Ask me what it eats.  Ask me where it sleeps.  Ask me WHEN it sleeps.

We were lucky enough to do some LOVE-ly art with our grade 5/6 buddies.  Ask me the name of my big buddy.  Ask me what we did.  Ask me what colours I used.  Ask me what was the hardest part.

Volunteers
Volunteers are needed for upcoming in-school events as well as walking trips happening within the next month.  If you are interested, available and have all three levels of clearance to volunteer with the CBE please sign up using the following links. Playdough
Thank you to all the parents who have volunteered to make playdough for both Kindergarten Classrooms throughout the school year- the kids love it and it really helps them build fine motor skills.
Below is the link for dates starting Monday, March 30th through the end of the school year.

Please involve your child during the playdough making process.  Have them measure out the ingredients with you.  Have them help you knead the dough.  Here is a fabulous recipe for playdough from a parent whose playdough turned out great during the first term. https://www.iheartnaptime.net/play-dough-recipe/ **double this recipe**

With regards to how much playdough is required, please note that the amount made is split between the kindergarten classrooms - 2 medium or 1 large Ziploc bag is what we are looking for (approximately 2 large yogurt containers worth)
