Hello Families!

Literacy
This week we started to focus on the letters of the word "pumpkin". We talked about the word, what it means, the letters and sounds it makes and practiced writing it. Ask your child what sounds the letters make and how we remember the sounds.

We also continued to make predictions in the stories we read this week. When you are reading at home, pause and ask your child what they think will happen next.

Math
We began talking about patterns and what makes up a pattern. Ask your child to show you a colour or sound/action pattern.

We continue to practice drawing a recognizable person. Checking to see if our picture has a body, facial features (eyes, nose, mouth), and limbs with feet and hands.

Walking Field Trip - Fish Creek Park
We had so much fun exploring our school community, looking for ways our community helps to keep us safe and looking for signs of Fall in Fish Creek Park. Ask your child what they saw, smelled, felt.

Volunteers
Thank you so much for all of the volunteers who came with us on our walking field trips this week. We could not do this without you!

Pumpkins
Thank you to the families who have sent in pumpkins for our classroom. If you would like to donate a pumpkin, we would love to have it as we continue our inquiry into pumpkins.

Adventure Pictures
*Most of the Fish Creek Park photos were taken by our Kindergarten friends.*
