Hello Families!

Scientist in School
On Wednesday we had an amazing experience with Scientist in School where we learned about 5 different science disciplines. Ask your child what 5 disciplines we learned about. All of the stations were hands-on learning and experiments. There are many photos below. Ask your child what they learned? What area did they enjoy the most? What area was the most challenging?

Library Books
AM Kinders had a library tour today and PM Kinder will have a tour on Friday, November 29. We learned the expectations of being in our library, where to find good books, how to check out a book and how to return a book. Each child took a book out of the library. As they complete the book at home, please send it back to school in their folder. We will be changing books on a regular basis. Please take this opportunity to sit with your child and enjoy a good book. We love to see which books they pick out on their own.

Cold Weather Clothing
A friendly reminder to ensure your child is properly dressed for this cold weather. They need to have snow pants with them, a warm jacket, boots, mitts and a hat. It would be greatly appreciated if you could practice independence skills with your child. Can they put on their snow pants, and in the right order? Can they do up their jacket without help? Can they put on their boots? Can they put on their gloves? Building these skills helps them to be more independent and prepared for dismissal routines each day.

Volunteers:

THANK YOU to all of the volunteers who came in for Scientist in School! We had an amazing day and couldn't have done it without you.

Glenbow Museum
PM families, we are desperately looking for families to obtain their police clearance so we will have enough volunteers to go on our bus field trip to the Glenbow Museum. If you are able to volunteer for Friday, January 24 from 8:00am - 12:00pm, please consider completing the necessary steps to volunteer. If we do not have enough volunteers to reach our 1:5 ratio, we will not be able to go on this trip. A police clearance takes 2-3 weeks to complete. Please send me an email if you have any questions.

Kindergarten Kindness Campaign:

Cards for our Troops
We are participating in Operation Tiny Troops this holiday season and writing/making cards to send to our troops to thank them for their service. If you have any extra Christmas or holiday cards at home, we would love to use them in our class for this project.

Veteran's Food Drive
Beginning Monday, Dec 2, we will be collecting non-perishable food items for our Veteran's Food Drive. We will collect the food in our classroom until Dec 17. For the evenings of Dec 17th and 18th, we will have large boxes by the front doors so families can drop off food before watching our Christmas concerts. On top of the already amazing reason for participating in this food drive, we will be using the food to sort, make patterns, discuss different 3D shapes and learn more about healthy vs. unhealthy food choices. We would love to have your support!

Our Adventures: (Ask your child to explain the different stations)
