Week of January 13 to January 17

What a DINOSAUR packed week we have had!

In preparation for our field trip to the Glenbow Museum on Friday, we worked all week on transforming our classroom into a gallery. Ask me what a gallery is. Ask me what we voted for as a class as our theme for our gallery (Dinosaurs). Ask me what our gallery rules were.  Ask me who came to visit our gallery. Ask me what we showed in our gallery.

In math, we continued with open-ended math problems. There are ten dinosaurs some only eat meat and some only eat plants.  How many eat meat and how many eat plants? Ask me what my solution was. Ask me how many of my dinosaurs ate meat and how many ate only plants.  We also did some reviewing of shapes while creating our shape dinosaurs.  Ask me how many circles/squares/rectangles/triangles I used to create my dinosaur.  Ask me what colour(s) I choose for my dinosaur.

Valentine's Day Cards - Update -
Based on the poll we did last week, you voted FOR distributing cards in class. Thank you to all of the families who voted and shared their opinion. Recommendation: If you would like to participate, please make/create/purchase cards and label the cards with "To: My Friend" instead of a specific child's name. Send the cards with your child on Wednesday, Feb 12. It is imperative that enough cards are made for each student in our class. We have 19 students in our class. We will distribute them on Wednesday, Feb 12. We will make Valentine's bags in class that week. Please do not send treats/food/sweets with the cards.
