Hello Families!

What an amazing week we have had!

Radiant Art Residency
Afternoon Kinders have completed their residency with Rebecca and Morning Kinders will finish tomorrow. We can't wait to show you the work we have been doing with Alberta's animals. Ask your child what animal footprint they made and how they did it. We learned the new words: mosaic, tesserae, and resist. Ask your child what these words mean.

Cooperation and Partner Work
We are focusing on cooperation and working with parnters this week in class. We have been playing games that require partners to take turns and help each other. These are necessary life skills. Ask your child to play Tic Tac Toe with you.

Conferences
The next set of conferences are student-led conferences. This means your child will be leading you through a bunch of different centres or stations that we will have set up in the classroom. Your child will have a number of activities and artifacts of student work to share with you as evidence of their learning. You will sign up for a 30-minute time slot and there will be other children and families in the classroom at the same time. Conference times will be Thursday from 12:30 - 2:30pm and 3:00 - 7:00pm and Friday from 8:00am - 12:00pm. Please watch the Parent Update for the date conference booking opens.

Fire drill
We had a fire drill this week with our AM Kinders. The students did a wonderful job following instructions and staying with their teacher. Ask your child about fire drill expectations at school. Perhaps you could work with our child to review the safety plan for your home.

Flashcards
If your child has brought home flashcards with letters or words, it is super helpful if you practice these with your child and send them back to school each day so we can practice at school.
