Week of March 9 to March 13

Wowza! What a week!

In Math, we explored 2D shapes and 3D shapes. Ask me what the four 3D shapes we learned about this week (sphere, cube, cyclinder, cone). Ask me what 3D shapes we looked for around the room.  Ask me if every item we found stayed where we put them.  Ask me how we decided.  Ask me what shape we have the most of in our classroom. Ask me what 3D shape I created. 


Thank you Mr. Newman for kickstarting the second part of our robotics residency this week. Ask me what we did.  Ask me what codes I put into my racetrack.  Ask me if my racetrack worked the first time.  Ask me if the Ozobot was ever confused.  What did it do. Ask me if I had to change anything about my racetrack for it to work better. What did I change.  


This week we explored buoyancy. Ask me what material my group had.  Ask me what our guess was for how many manipulatives it would take for the cup to sink.  **On Friday** We will be tasked to build a LEGO boat that can float 5 pennies. Ask me how many pennies my boat could hold before it sank. Ask me if I had to change my design to help my LEGO boat float better.  Ask me if I changed my design so my boat was able to hold more pennies.

Our walking field trip was amazing.  Thank you to all the volunteers that joined us and made our trip possible. We couldn't have done it without you. Ask me if I found all the items on our scavenger hunt.  Ask me what I touched.  Ask me what I smelled.  Ask me what I heard.  Ask me what I saw. Ask me to compare Fish Creek in the winter, to what we experienced in the Autumn. 

We got together with our big buddies this week and created a fun art piece. Ask me what we made. Ask me what the most difficult part was.
